Question: How does a Hydraulic Torque Wrench work?
Answer: A Hydraulic Torque Wrench System consists of a Hydraulic Torque Wrench (TU or TX), a Hydraulic Power Pack and a Hydraulic Hose. The Hydraulic Power Pack attaches to the Hydraulic Torque Wrench via the Hydraulic Hose. The pressure from the Hydraulic Power Pack powers the Hydraulic Torque Wrench.

Question: What is the difference between a Pneumatic Torque Wrench and a Pneumatic Wrench?
Answer: The typical Pneumatic Wrench is also known as an Impact Wrench. The word "Impact" is the major difference between the two. A TorcUP Pneumatic Torque Wrench does not impact. Instead, through multiple gear stages, we "Multiply" the torque generated through a pistol grip air drive motor. The torque can be adjusted and is applied through continuous fluid-like turning of the drive and socket. |

Question: Can I use my standard sockets that I use with my hand tools?
Answer: We do not recommend this. TorcUP produes a line of industrial Impact Sockets for use with hydraulic torque wrenches. These sockets are designed and manufactured to handle the extremely high torque values that are applied by hydraulic torque wrenches. Standard chrome alloy sockets are designed to work well with hand applied torque. However, they cannot withstand the power of a hydraulic torque wrench. |

Question: What is the difference between the TU and TX Series Hydraulic Torque Wrench?
Answer: The TU is a Square Drive Hydraulic Wrench that utilizes industrial impact sockets to engage fasteners. It is very similar to your hand operated torque wrench. The TX is a Low Profile Hydraulic Wrench that utilizes individual Hex Links to engage the fastener. With the TX there is a Power Cylinder and Hex Links in various sizes to meet the size requirements of various fasteners. |

Question: Do I need a TU or a TX Hydraulic Wrench for my application?
Answer: The TX series is primarily for limited space constraint applications. The patented design of this wrench allows it to fit where even an industrial impact socket will not fit. This tool basically solves problems of fit. The TU series is the workhorse of the TorcUP product line. This series offers users the ability to utilize standard industrial grade impact sockets to tighten and loosen fasteners. This tool is basically your most popular hydraulic torque wrench in use. |

Question: What is Tital 399 and is this the material with which you make your tools?
Answer: There is no such thing as Tital 399. It is a made up name for an aircraft quality aluminum alloy. To be sure of this, please search online for this alloy as Tital 399 and call your local metal supply house and ask them for pricing on Tital 399. It is called Tital 399 to mislead the consumer into thinking that the product is a special Titanium and Aluminum compound offered only by this competitor. However, this alloy is the exact same alloy we use to produce the housing of our TU series tools. So, in essence, the answer is YES!! We do make our tools with this alloy, however, we do not mislead our customer as to what the alloy really is!! |

Question: Can the power (torque) output of the wrench be adjusted?
Answer: Yes!! This is the beauty of the TorcUP Hydraulic Torque Wrench. Each wrench can be adjusted through its output range. For example, a TU-3 has an output of 330 Ft/Lbs to 3,330 Ft/Lbs. The operator can adjust the pressure on the Hydraulic Power Pack to any figure within that range. The same operation goes for each wrench, both TU and TX. Every wrench has an accuracy of +/-3% throughout its full range. |

Question: With this much power at hand...what type of impact and noise does the wrench make?
Answer: There is absolutely NO impact with a Hydraulic Torque Wrench. It is powered fully by fluid movement and does not pose any vibration or noise problems. The TorcUP Hydraulic Power Packs are REVOLUTIONARY in that they only create 80dBA at 10,000 PSI. They are the quietest running pumps in the industry. |

Question: How does RSBolting know that a Hydraulic Torque Wrench is accurate?
Answer: With our exclusive relationship with TorcUP Inc., we know that every wrench that bears the TorcUP name has been torque tested. Upon final assembly (before putting on our shelves) we inspect every wrench for proper mechanical operation and then for torque accuracy. This assures us that every wrench actually does what we say it will. |

Question: How many operators do I need to operate a Hydraulic Torque Wrench?
Answer: Just one!! If you have a left or a right hand you can hold the remote pendant and push the button. The wrench does the rest. If you do not have hands...call us...we can provide a foot pedal to operate the system as well. |

Question: How is a Hydraulic Wrench System safer than other methods such as Impact Wrenches, Tensioners, Cheater Bars, Heating Rods, and Torque Multipliers?
Answer: Ok...let's start with Impact Wrenches...they are noisy, vibrate and just as the name says...they impact. A TorcUP tool does not!! Tensioners utilize higher forces of pressure to "Stretch" the studs to achieve load. When a tensioner "lets go"...watch out and stand back!! We have seen mechanics with cheater bars loose grip and fall, loose grip and hit themselves, loose grip and knock out teeth...need we say more? Heating Rods...ever pick up a hot pot and not know it was hot? Torque Multipliers...this is just a bunch of gears used to "Gear Up" torque input. When an operator is pushing on his torque wrench and the gears into a Torque Multiplier let go...again...WATCH OUT!! None of the above is found with a TorcUP Hydraulic Wrench System. It is hands off and remotely operated. |
